Hoops

December 21, 2009

Hoops isn’t a new place, I have been there probably a dozen times (been to 3 different locations too).   But when I was there on saturday night somebody ordered something that I have never seen ordered there before, my brother order the chicken fingers.   When the plate arrived we all stared at how big the fingers were.   They were impressive and the batter looked a little bit like the beer batter that Baton Rouge uses.   My brother offered me a piece at one point.  I stabbed it with my fork and took the bite.  The chicken inside tasted great and fresh.   It was moist and the batter wasn’t the same as Baton Rouge’s but it still tasted great.

As much as I love the chicken wings at Hoops (they are breaded and are a good size) I decided then that next time I need to get the fingers and if they are still as good next time then I might not go back to wings at Hoops.

Wendy’s has introduced a new flavour of their Frosty.   I was sure if I should be excited or roll my eyes.   I have always liked the Frosty’s but they weren’t anything special except that I liked that I got good value for my dollars.   I was hoping the Vanilla Frosty would be Wendy’s way of raising the stakes and making their products better but at the same time I was worried that it was just going to be… well PLAIN.   While it did taste like it had a FRENCH vanilla taste to it, the Vanilla Frosty was quite plain and a little bit of a disappointment.   I have yet to return to Wendy’s to try another one (one reason why is because the Wendy’s in Thornhill has closed down) but I will give it another chance, because once again, while it isn’t anything special, it does provide good bang for my buck.

I eat at this restaurant with my baseball team after games.   Last night one guy who I have known for 20 years, took a bite into his burger and found some metal sticking out.   Usually the food is pretty good there and they give sports teams deals.   The guy complained and we got 15% off of our whole bill.   So the food is good there, just check under the bun before you bite into it.  :)

A new blog!

WIGSF, Columbia and I discussed an idea like this on the weekend.   It seems WIGSF and I keep going to restaurants and rating them.   So I thought we should start a blog all about our experiences at these places.    I am hoping to get the WonderTwins to contribute to this thing to, so stay tuned!
